Current position
Director of Planning, Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation, Bangkok, Thailand
Current job description
From 1998 to 2007 I served as technical adviser to the Minister of the Natural Resources and the Environment and in 2008 I was promoted to Director of the Planning Division for the Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation (DNP). My Department was formerly the Royal Forest Department and my training at Minnesota helped to convince the Ministry to shift the Department's emphasis from forestry to a much broader ecosystem approach to resource management. Our name change reflects this new approach. Much of my work focuses on increasing DNPs collaboration with international conservation organizations and neighboring countries. I am still a Vikings fan and I enjoy participating in the UMN wildlife class held in early January at Huai Kha Khaeng.
