My current research investigates zebra mussel control. Zebra mussels are an aquatic invasive species that cause widespread ecological harm to our aquatic environments, impact the recreational value of our waters, and because of their biofouling behavior can result in major economic losses to industrial and municipal water users. Our research looks at the impacts of copper pesticides on suppressing zebra mussel populations in Minnesota lakes, with an end intent of providing communities and managers with better information to make more informed decisions on protecting Minnesota's waters.
