I work on collaborative project named Healthy Prairies, which is funded by the Environment and Natural Resources Trust Fund. The goal of this project is to preserve prairie plant diversity in Minnesota and promote the restoration of thriving prairies. My role in this project involves collecting and preserving germplasm of 40 plant species throughout the prairie region of Minnesota, determining the scale of local adaptation of prairie perennials, as well as evaluating the adaptive capacity of focal perennial prairie species to climate change.
