My research project will use GPS locations of white-tailed deer to assess winter habitat requirements in northeastern and northcentral Minnesota. I am particularly interested in the individual variability of use of forest cover types, and how they are influenced by size, edge, and interspersion at a the stand level. I will use an Object-based Image Analysis to classify forest stands and GPS locations of female white-tailed deer to assess winter habitat use and selection.
