I am interested in ex situ strategies for species conservation. My research is primarily focused on two species of imperiled butterfly, the Dakota skipper and Poweshiek skipperling. Once common on midwestern prairies, both species have experienced drastic declines in recent decades. My research aims to better understand the influence floral abundance has on their dispersal patterns at reintroduction sites and how best to manage habitat for the species.
