My research will employ stable isotope methods to determine differences in predation behavior of individual wolves and relate diet behavior to pack and population patterns to better understand cultural variation in predatory behavior across this species. Some individuals and packs specialize on beaver, while others in the same area do not. Why is this and what are the implications for ecology and conservation? I will pursue this and develop the techniques to study diet from wolf teeth.
